The Command Deck/Combat Mechanics Empty

The Command Deck is, in short, your Abilities, your Skills, and your Spells. Every character is capable of using these.

As time goes on and your character grows stronger, they will gain access to more Spells, Skills, and Abilities.

0-5k Willpower/Potential = 3 skills, 3 spells
3k-7k Willpower/Potential = 6 skills, 6 spells
7k-11k Willpower/Potential = 9 skills, 9 spells
11k-16k Willpower/Potential = 12 skills, 12 spells
16k-21k Willpower/Potential = 15 skills, 15 spells
21-27k Willpower/Potential = 18 skills, 18 spells
27k-35k Willpower/Potential = 20 skills, 20 spells

Level 1: 1 Stamina or Mana, 35% Damage (charges in increments of 20% up to a maximum of 95% Potential)

Level 2: 2 Stamina or Mana, 60% (charges in increments of 20% up to a maximum of 100% Potential)

Level 3: 3 Stamina or Mana, 100% (Does not charge but damage can be increased by things such as Fire Boost, or by Command Styles)

Level 4: 3 Stamina or Mana, 50% your Potential and 50% of a friend's Potential! (Charges in increments of 25%, making the total out to be 200%)

SHOTLOCK: 35% for 1 Mana and Stamina, 60% for 2 Mana and Stamina, 100% for 3 Mana and Stamina. Shotlocks cannot miss.

Things worth noting:

-Every 10k Willpower/Potential grants you an additional ability slot.

-Levels 1-3 are Skills and Spells that your character can use alone, and they work entirely off of your Potential, which is your offensive stat.

-The hard cap on Level 3/4 Skills and Spells is 100%.

-Level 4 Skills and Spells are special; they are combination attacks. You need to have one person that can use Level 4 as well.

The process of learning a new spell or skill is done over time. Keep a list of unlearned skills that you want to learn on your profile and they will be given to you when you are graded provided you have an open slot and have proven yourself capable of knowing it. That being said, please be sure to put down how many open slots you have and what your focus in combat is. Be it an elemental focus or a focus on physical (heavy or speedy) or magical skills (offensive or defensive). It helps the staff grant you your skills in such a way that doesn't go against your character's combat strategy.

The Command Deck/Combat Mechanics Empty

Actions per Round
Every character, regardless of their strength, is capable of taking one action on their turn.
-Non-skill attacks are free to use, and you still gain Mana and Stamina back even when using them.
-Non-skill blocking is free as well, but you can only choose to attack or block.
-Using items DOES count as an action.
-Healing spells can be interrupted by a stun. Unless you have Leaf Bracer, of course.

Mana and Stamina
There are two stats that characters have in order to make use of their skills! Mana, and Stamina.
-Mana governs the use of magical spells.
-Stamina governs the use of physical abilities.
-Mana is regained by not using magic spells.
-Stamina is regained by not using physical skills.

Transformations
..Are being reworked!

Blocking, Dodging, and Melee!
Using a regular melee attack without any form of training is 5% of your potential, your melee damage is linked to the amount you can guard for (without guard boosts obviously). So if you can melee for 5% Potential, you can guard for 5% Willpower. Dodging can only be done through abilities. Every point of Stamina used for your Dodge increases the amount of damage you avoid by 100% up to a maximum of 300%. Just remember using up all your Stamina in one go could make your dodge for nothing!

Resource Management
When you use up either one of your resources completely without triggering a Command Style or defeating an enemy, it takes an extra turn before it starts to recover. So say if your Stamina hits 0 it wouldn't regain a point until the turn after your next. The same applies to mana.

Damage and Death
Death on Kingdom Keys is not exactly 'dying'. If a human, toon, moogle, or keyblade wielder dies if they do not possess Lingering Will they will transform into a Heartless or a Nobody. Alternatively, if you do not wish to become either of these things you are sent to the Dark Realm. If you die in the Dark Realm (as unlikely as that is), the transition into a Heartless or Nobody is forced. If someone defeats you in combat by depleting your health you are knocked out unless it is a RoD, in which case they may choose to finish you off in what way they see fit.

The Dark Realm
The realm of Darkness to better fit it's purposes on site may be different from how it works in the actual series. It is pretty much the afterlife for beings from the realm of light. To 'die' is to be dragged into the Realm of Darkness to find an escape. If you are a Heartless. Lingering Will, or Nobody, you may enter and leave the Realm of Darkness freely. If you are a human, toon, moogle, or keyblade wielder you are restricted to one of the two realms without some special means of getting between the two. While in the Realm of Darkness, you may encounter a special event or a certain bluenette keyblade wielder we all know and love.. If you're of good alignment, of course. If you're evil you are more than welcome to challenge her.

Combat with NPCs

Like how you remain at 1/3 [Stamina/Mana] if you trigger a Command Style, defeating an NPC monster such as a Shadow or Dusk will do the same. This is to make horde battles easier without letting your character have the crap ganked out of them before their next turn. Most NPCs cannot transform unless it's some sort of special event or a boss-type NPC that is closer to a player character as opposed to being something more generic and mindless.
